Fen-Phen
The popular diet drug Fen-Phen appears to be the cause of heightened rates of primary pulmonary hypertension (HPP). Fen-Phen is a combination of the drugs Fenfluramine and Phentermine. Over 17 million prescriptions of Fen-Phen were written in 1996. In 1997, amid concerns, the FDA recommended the withdrawal of the product from the market.
The New England Journal of Medicine (August, 1997) reported that 24 women treated with Fen-Phen demonstrated heart murmur symptoms. It is believed that the use of Fen-Phen has caused these problems and has caused pulmonary hypertension in countless other users. If you or a family member has suffered an injury due to the use of Fen-Phen, you should contact your an attorney to discuss the details of your case.
The FDA suggests that users of Fen-Phen have a physical examination. Robert Grossman & Associates, LLP
